In-between trips

I’m in the midst of planning my next trip – a road trip to McMinnville, TN.  On the way there, I plan to overnight in Roanoke, VA and visit the Taubman Museum of Art.  On the way back I’m thinking about overnighting in Natural Bridge, VA.  If I do the drive all in one day it’s over 10 hours, so I thought it would be good to break it up.

If anybody reading this has any suggestions for my route, let me know!  (I will be looking at the Road Trippers app later too).  Comments you make will not be public!

So, yesterday I met up with some of my ex co-workers for beers.  They caught me up on things going on at work.  Below is an excerpt from an email that was sent out yesterday.  I am so glad I left when I did!

—— facilities represent our organization as a corporate entity to the industry, our own employees, and the general public on many occasions. As such, we are all responsible for the business atmosphere that is presented in accordance with our general guidance under xxxxx ‘Business Appropriate Attire’. Dress code for the office is Business Casual.

Recently, as we have been progressing through the summer season, there has been some lapses in acceptable business casual attire, such as jeans, sneakers and flip flops in the office environment.  Please be reminded that when coming to work at the offices, business casual attire must reflect our professional standards of excellence.

Note that about a year ago a different email went out saying that jeans were allowed in one of the two buildings at that particular campus.

Anyway, no skin off my teeth!  I can wear whatever I want every day now!

I thought about inserting another gratuitous Longwood Gardens shot in here, but decided against it.

Stay tuned for my next adventure!
