A friend of mine took this photo and I thought it would make a great painting:

Another Painting
I am donating a painting to a local music festival raffle. All I had to do was be one of the first 70 people to submit an application.
I have to turn the painting in tomorrow, along with an artist’s bio, but both are done now! Continue reading “Another Painting”
New Wool Felting Piece
I did another wool felting workshop. It was around landscapes. I found a photo that the teacher took of some mushrooms in New Hampshire on an island called Cow Island in Lake Winnepasaukee. Continue reading “New Wool Felting Piece”
My Latest Painting
I just finished a painting for some friends that own a winery, for their wine tasting room. Here are some photos showing the progress through the process: Continue reading “My Latest Painting”
Wool Felting
I went to a wool felting workshop last week and made this. Isn’t it cute??

Mural Mosaic
I recently decided to be a part of the Global Roots project. You pay $39 and receive a 6×6 canvas, easel, paints and paintbrushes. You don’t get to pick the color palette. Then, you make a painting and send a photo of it back. Continue reading “Mural Mosaic”
Latest Painting
To thank Rich, who published me in 65mag.com, I did a painting of Carmel Beach. Here’s the painting and the photo that inspired it. Enjoy!

Neurographica
I tried out a new thing at a 2-hr workshop the other week – Neurographica. Continue reading “Neurographica”
A Commissioned Portrait
Through a series of random events (of course), I ended up being commissioned to paint Lisa’s (from Manzoni) dog for her husband’s birthday.
First, here is the dog, Anoosh (Armenian for sweetness):

I will say one thing – up front I should have asked for more photos of Anoosh. I didn’t realize how hard it would be to paint from a black and white photo (the painting was to be B&W also, so it seemed okay at the time) Continue reading “A Commissioned Portrait”
An Amazing Opportunity!
When I first got to Carmel, I met Rich. Rich publishes a magazine called 65/57. 65 is the average temperature in Carmel, and 57 is the average temperature in Napa.
I mentioned to Rich that I paint, and one day he asked if I could show him my work. So, I pulled up my blog, went to the My Artwork page and handed my phone over. As he scrolled, he said stuff like “I like that one” or “that one is nice.” And then he said, how about we do a piece about you for the July issue? Continue reading “An Amazing Opportunity!”
Follow Up on the Art Abandonment
Another update – I painted a rock and left it in the rock garden of the Faery Village, and I also painted a piece of wood I found into a shark but I forgot to take a picture of it! Darn!
Just a short update – I dropped off the Junk Journal I found on a trail along 17-Mile drive: Continue reading “Follow Up on the Art Abandonment”
What Have I Been Up To?
I’ve been in Carmel for 2 weeks now. Finally got motivated to drive the car a couple days ago and ended up driving yesterday too. Continue reading “What Have I Been Up To?”
Another Painting
I started this one back in April, and then I got ‘stuck’ and put it aside. Finally finished it up a couple weeks ago! Continue reading “Another Painting”
Yep, another painting
I did this painting in Art Class, based on a photo I took at Winterthur Gardens back in early fall. Continue reading “Yep, another painting”
Another Painting
This post will be short because I was bad and didn’t take any “in-progress” photos of this painting. And I should have because it started off really bad and came around to being okay. Darn! Continue reading “Another Painting”
