Neurographica

I tried out a new thing at a 2-hr workshop the other week – Neurographica.

Here’s what I did at the workshop:

The black lines were done with a Sharpie and then the fill in was with wide markers.  The basic gist is you draw random lines across the paper, from one edge to the other (the ends should go off the page to release them to the Universe).  Do this until you feel you’ve added enough.

Every place where a line crossed another, you fill in the intersection to soften it.  This one’s a little messy but you get the point.

Then you start filling in colors.  The only ‘rule’ is you can’t have one section as a stand-alone in color – you always have to have a minimum of 2 sections touching each other that are the same color.  Cool, eh?

It’s actually very relaxing and can help with anxiety and releasing limitations, among other things.

Here’s one I did at home. I used watercolor crayons to color it in and then ran a wet watercolor brush over it.

I’ll leave it to you to do a Google search on it to find out more – but you should check it out!  There’s a lot more to it than I know at this point.  Talk soon!
