The other day I was on a Zoom call with a friend of mine. I was showing her a little ceramic paperclip holder that I had kept that had been my dad’s. I thought my aunt had made it and turned it over to see if she had signed it. Continue reading “Coincidence? I think not …”
A Lot Going On
I have been planning to sell my house for a while and it seemed like now was just the right time so I got things moving. I had to fly to the house and start cleaning and purging. I bought a one-way ticket so I wouldn’t feel stressed by the timing. Continue reading “A Lot Going On”
An Amazing Opportunity!
When I first got to Carmel, I met Rich. Rich publishes a magazine called 65/57. 65 is the average temperature in Carmel, and 57 is the average temperature in Napa.
I mentioned to Rich that I paint, and one day he asked if I could show him my work. So, I pulled up my blog, went to the My Artwork page and handed my phone over. As he scrolled, he said stuff like “I like that one” or “that one is nice.” And then he said, how about we do a piece about you for the July issue? Continue reading “An Amazing Opportunity!”
Catching Up and Another Miracle
Once I arrived in Carmel I found a few workshops that I was interested in, starting with some at Pilgrim’s Way Community Bookstore and Secret Garden https://www.pilgrimsway.com/. Consider this local bookstore if you’re looking to get a book – they have an extensive website and can order books for you. Plus they’re just a cool little store! A Big Miracle
(I just want to make an aside note here – I couldn’t log into the blog one day in November. After several attempts, I did a Google search and it said something about needing to change my cookie settings, which made no sense to me, so I sat on things for a while because I didn’t feel like dealing with it. At any rate, a few days ago I had the idea to put in a trouble ticket with the people that host my blogsite, ICDSoft. They not only fixed the issue and replied within about 2 minutes, but they showed me what the fix was. There was some coding that had fancy quotes – the curved ones, instead of the simple ones like this one: ‘ and they had to change them to the simple ones and I was back in business! YAY! and kudos to ICDSoft – they are GREAT if you’re ever looking for someplace to host your stuff! Okay, now, on with the show!) Continue reading “A Big Miracle”
What Have I Been Up To? Astrology Soul Journey
Well, it’s been a while since I did an update, so here goes. My friend Karen was here to visit me for the last week and just left this morning so now I have some time to catch up. Continue reading “What Have I Been Up To? Astrology Soul Journey”
Some Thoughts
I have a bunch of photos to share from Carmel and stuff but not in the mood to take the time to upload them … yet.
But, I am staying at a fantastic motel in Carmel. My room has a fireplace and fridge. Carmel is an amazing place with a street down (yes, down a hill) to the ocean. From the beach you can see Pebble Beach, which I didn’t even realize was Pebble Beach at first. Continue reading “Some Thoughts”
More Breakthroughs
Okay, this post is probably going to be a bit heavy, and also with pretty much no photos. I think I have been releasing a lot of sadness that happened when I was 22. But, you know, that is part of what this adventure has been about, right? (yes, right) Continue reading “More Breakthroughs”
Leaving Honomu
After almost 3 weeks there, it was time to leave Mahana House. I was actually supposed to leave on Monday 11/29 but I moved it up by 2 days to Saturday 11/27 because it was just a little too quiet. Actually, at the end there was a family there who was quite loud, but, what I meant was too quiet was in I was ready to be closer to things to do. Before I realized my third chakra had an energy block I was real antsy and itchy to go places, and that was when I changed my check out date. I have since unblocked it some and calmed down a bit, and probably could have ‘stuck it out’ a few more days but I’m very happy to be in Hilo. Still working on the chakra though. Continue reading “Leaving Honomu”
Thanksgiving 2021
Started raining Wednesday night and poured all day on Thanksgiving 11/25, so I decided to have a true spiritual day – two different types of meditation, yoga, cacao ceremony and painting. Continue reading “Thanksgiving 2021”
Feeling the Feels
Okay, this is going to be a hard one for me to post. After the retreat I had a breakthrough – a big one. I ended up writing about it by hand with two cats purring by my feet, while sitting in the sun. So, I’m just going to type what I wrote. The breakthrough happened on the same day that I went to the Botanical Adventures Garden. I promised myself that I was going to go ‘deep’ in the blog in order to be absolutely transparent and authentic to my Self. Here goes:
Onwards and Upwards – Part 1 – Ahu Lani Days 1 and 2
My last post I left off with my last sunrise in Hilo, for now anyway. I got everything packed up and in the car, and headed into Hilo to meet River, Adam and Lindsey so we could caravan over to the Kona side to pick up the retreat peeps. Continue reading “Onwards and Upwards – Part 1 – Ahu Lani Days 1 and 2”
A great massage and a visit to the Kona side
Yesterday, 11/2, I had a massage, and boy it was one of the best massages I’ve ever had. Thinking I’ll get at least one more there before I leave the island – it was with Maya of Body Harmony, right in Hilotown. If you’re ever here – go check her out! Continue reading “A great massage and a visit to the Kona side”
Catching Up
It’s been a few days since I updated the blog, partly because some days I didn’t really do anything interesting, and partly because I wasn’t in the mood, and partly because I was out and about. Continue reading “Catching Up”
Big Changes and a Volcano
Yesterday, 10/28, was a big day. On 10/27 I found out that the settlement for the sale of my house would be on 10/28. I had already signed up for a tour: https://kapohokine.com/tours/evening-volcano-explorer-hilo/ on 10/28 – but, I had already given my lawyer Power of Attorney so I didn’t really need to do anything. I let them know that I’d be on a tour for most of the day and that I’d have my phone with me.
