A Big Miracle

(I just want to make an aside note here – I couldn’t log into the blog one day in November.  After several attempts, I did a Google search and it said something about needing to change my cookie settings, which made no sense to me, so I sat on things for a while because I didn’t feel like dealing with it.  At any rate, a few days ago I had the idea to put in a trouble ticket with the people that host my blogsite, ICDSoft.  They not only fixed the issue and replied within about 2 minutes, but they showed me what the fix was.  There was some coding that had fancy quotes – the curved ones, instead of the simple ones like this one: ‘ and they had to change them to the simple ones and I was back in business!  YAY!  and kudos to ICDSoft – they are GREAT if you’re ever looking for someplace to host your stuff!  Okay, now, on with the show!)

If you’ve been keeping up with my blog for a while, you already know that I drove out to CA from the east coast with the plan to relocate somewhere around Carmel.

Well, it happened!! I had called a realty company and told them I was looking for a 2 BR 2 BA place.  Valerie there told me she had something coming up at the end of the year.  I walked by where I thought it was but couldn’t figure it out.  So, I called her back to get more details.  Then, it turned out that the place might not come open because it was dependent on whether the current tenant decided to move out or not.

But, as I was walking around trying to see where it was, I looked up and saw a FOR RENT sign in a window, with a phone number.  I reverse looked up the number and it seemed legit.  I reached out to the person and she met me at the apartment the next day.  I signed the lease 6 days later, on November 3rd!

I  still had the AirBnB so I spent November getting some furniture (beds, sofa, TV, lamps, end tables, chairs) and moved in on November 29th.

I had written down a list of what I wanted in an apartment:  2 BR, 2 BA, off-street parking, good functioning kitchen, wanted it in the Golden Rectangle of Carmel.  I didn’t write this down but I also secretly wanted a gas fireplace.

And the apartment had all of that including the fireplace!!

I’ll leave you with a quote:

“Believe you deserve it and the universe will serve it”

Yes, indeed.

Now that I’m back in business blog-wise you’ll be seeing more posts from me once again.  Til then dear reader!

PS – if you haven’t already read it, read the post called Encounter With A Blue Jay – it ties in to what happened!
