An Amazing Opportunity!

When I first got to Carmel, I met Rich.  Rich publishes a magazine called 65/57.  65 is the average temperature in Carmel, and 57 is the average temperature in Napa.

I mentioned to Rich that I paint, and one day he asked if I could show him my work.  So, I pulled up my blog, went to the My Artwork page and handed my phone over.  As he scrolled, he said stuff like “I like that one” or “that one is nice.”  And then he said, how about we do a piece about you for the July issue? More Catching Up

(Apologies again for how long it’s been since I’ve written an entry!  I think I’m going to add a day or more per week with appointments on my calendar to update the Blog so it doesn’t go for so long anymore)

Anyway, friend Angus came to visit me at the end of January so we did a little sight seeing, hitting Point Lobos, Big Sur (specifically Bixby Bridge and Nepenthe), places around Carmel, including a concert at the Sunset Center – Live at Lincoln Center Jazz, The Monterey Aquarium, and some general driving around the area.  Here are a bunch of photos: Continue reading “More Catching Up”

Catching Up – Big Storm!

Okay, I have definitely been remiss in updating my blog, since my last post was almost a month ago.  Oops!

So, there were some BIG storms here hitting the coast of CA in January 2023. Atmospheric rivers and bomb cyclones were among the words being thrown around.  I fared all right – my apartment is probably about a half mile uphill from the ocean and not near any rivers so I didn’t really have to worry about flooding.  And I didn’t lost power for any great length of time, so that was good.
