I was starting to feel that it was time to wrap up this trip. And ironically, I would end it by leaving the water and heading to the desert! Friends Jon and Tina invited me for a visit to their home in Henderson NV. Continue reading “Leaving California”
Carmel-by-the-Sea, Part 4 – Back to Carmel!
I liked Carmel so much I decided to go back for another few days so I could check out the area more. I emailed Gael, who had done the Carmel Walking Tour, to see if she would do a private tour with me around the general area so I could see Carmel Valley, Pacific Grove, Monterey and Point Lobos. It was a great day! Continue reading “Carmel-by-the-Sea, Part 4 – Back to Carmel!”
Around the Bay Area – Part 4 New Year’s Day on the Golden Gate Bridge
My cousin Ted and his wife Amy have a tradition of walking across the Golden Gate Bridge on New Year’s Day and they invited me along this year. It was a beautiful day, a bit brisk but nice. And we went early so it wasn’t terribly crowded. Here are a bunch of photos: Continue reading “Around the Bay Area – Part 4 New Year’s Day on the Golden Gate Bridge”
Around the Bay Area – Part 3 Filoli Gardens
Beanie and I decided to visit Filoli Gardens on 12/30. We got our tix ahead of time but unfortunately the night tix were sold out (lots of Christmas Lights around). Here’s a link: https://filoli.org/

Around the Bay Area – Part 2 San Fran
I spent a few days hanging out with Beanie and going for walks with her and her doggie Ginger. I’ve taken so many photos there that I didn’t bother taking too many this trip. Continue reading “Around the Bay Area – Part 2 San Fran”
Around the Bay Area – Part 1
I made it to the Bay Area without any hassles, and checked in for 2 nights at the Hilton Garden Inn in Centrepoint in San Mateo. I’ve stayed there before and it’s close to the house I grew up in and I wanted to check out the area again. Continue reading “Around the Bay Area – Part 1”
San Juan Bautista
On my way to the bay area, I made a stop in San Juan Bautista to see the mission. Unfortunately the mission was closed for lunchtime, but there is a CA State Park right next door so I checked it out. Only $3 to wander the area! Continue reading “San Juan Bautista”
Carmel-by-the-Sea, Part 3
So, up to now I had been spending my time in the areas closer to the ocean, so I thought I should try heading up away from the ocean to see what was up there. Yes, up there as in it was pretty hilly! Continue reading “Carmel-by-the-Sea, Part 3”
Carmel-by-the-Sea, Part 2
As promised, here are photos from my tour, and also from me wandering around in Carmel. Have fun looking at all of them! Continue reading “Carmel-by-the-Sea, Part 2”
Carmel-by-the-Sea, Part 1
I’m a little behind – arrived in Carmel last Sunday and now it’s Friday 12/17. Leaving here for San Mateo for 2 nights, then El Granada for about 2 weeks. And then? I don’t know yet! Continue reading “Carmel-by-the-Sea, Part 1”
Some Thoughts
I have a bunch of photos to share from Carmel and stuff but not in the mood to take the time to upload them … yet.
But, I am staying at a fantastic motel in Carmel. My room has a fireplace and fridge. Carmel is an amazing place with a street down (yes, down a hill) to the ocean. From the beach you can see Pebble Beach, which I didn’t even realize was Pebble Beach at first. Continue reading “Some Thoughts”
Santa Barbara
I know I already did a post FROM Santa Barbara but now I will do one ABOUT my time so far here. Today is Weds 12/8 (well, I started it on 12/8 but I just finished it up on Thurs 12/9) and I arrived here on Sun 12/5. Wow, I still can’t believe it’s December! Continue reading “Santa Barbara”
Catching up, leaving Hilo, a night in Waikiki
I spent the last few days in Hawaii not doing a ton of stuff. Had a great massage / body work session with Armando Rivas. If you’re ever in the Hilo area check him out. He does a lot beyond a regular massage. Continue reading “Catching up, leaving Hilo, a night in Waikiki”
Wai’Pio
OK, I didn’t hike down or back up, nor did I take a tour at Wai’Pio … yet. But, yesterday I did go to the Overlook and there are astounding views there. So here you go. Continue reading “Wai’Pio”
Leaving Honomu
After almost 3 weeks there, it was time to leave Mahana House. I was actually supposed to leave on Monday 11/29 but I moved it up by 2 days to Saturday 11/27 because it was just a little too quiet. Actually, at the end there was a family there who was quite loud, but, what I meant was too quiet was in I was ready to be closer to things to do. Before I realized my third chakra had an energy block I was real antsy and itchy to go places, and that was when I changed my check out date. I have since unblocked it some and calmed down a bit, and probably could have ‘stuck it out’ a few more days but I’m very happy to be in Hilo. Still working on the chakra though.
