OK, I didn’t hike down or back up, nor did I take a tour at Wai’Pio … yet. But, yesterday I did go to the Overlook and there are astounding views there. So here you go.
The weather here reminded me a lot of California. This spot is one road to get there, and then turn around and go back the same way you came. No loop or anything. Spirit graced me with a parking spot way up front (after passing probably a quarter mile of cars parked along the road)

All right. I arrived in Hilo after Wai’Pio, and am back at the Grand Naniloa. I’ll write more soon. Til then, stay tuned!
