I’ve had a few random thoughts rattling around in my brain the last month or so, so I thought I’d capture them here.
- There is a Bounty paper towel commercial. The ‘narrator’ talks about – and this is what it sounds like she says – more spills parole, more cleanups parole, more messes parole, etc. You get the point. I was like, well, that’s different – I guess in this particular household if you clean up after yourself, you get out of ‘bad family member jail.’ Then I realized she was saying “per roll.” Next time you’re watching TV, and if that commercial comes on, see what you think.
- Then there is a chicken broth commercial. I feel like they’re advertising that their chickens are not hormone-free. From the ‘narrator’ it sounds like Collagen. But, in fact, it is College Inn. Again, next time you’re watching TV, and if that commercial comes on, see what you think.
- I think one of the best songs ever written is ‘Sound and Color’ by Alabama Shakes. Here’s a link to the official video, but listen to it first without watching the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faG8RiaANek. How the heck do people write a song like that?! For me, it is so evocative of sound and color. It is one of my all-time favorite songs EVER.
Okay, that’s it for today! Carry on!
UPDATE: I forgot to mention one other commercial. It’s for Cover Girl if I remember right. It shows an ‘older’ model and she says something about when older women stop caring about their makeup – “I wonder when that is?” Then the commercial shows her name and age – Maye Musk, Age 69. I saw the ‘Musk’ and thought – hmm – could she be … ? So, I googled her name, and YES! She is Elon Musk’s mother. I thought that was pretty interesting.
Anyway, that is all. Carry on!
