I got back to England, spent 5 more nice days going for nice walks, and eating good food, ending my stay with Anthea’s 5-course catered dinner birthday party. Delicious! Dinner was followed up by drunken Charades (pronounced ‘sher-rahds’ in England, of course).

Another day we went into Devizes – this was the entrance to someone’s home
Then we went to the Wiltshire Museum – Bill and Anthea hadn’t been there yet. Took a few shots of stuff I found interesting. We had gone to Avebury earlier in my stay

There was a special exhibit of war posters from America, circa WWI. These posters were on loan from a museum in San Antonio! Relevant even today!
We came out of the museum and were walking around when a kind woman noticed me taking a photo. She was born and raised in Devizes, and was excited to point out that the church you see there was where the wedding in the 60’s movie “Far From the Madding Crowd” with Julie Christie was filmed. So, of course I had to include her hand in the photo!

Got home about 8pm, after being away for almost a month!
