OK, in my last post I mentioned a song by Circus Maximus called “Wind.” I heard it on the radio the other day, and wrote it down on the back of an envelope that I had in the car (I had just deposited a check at the bank) because I wanted to remember it.
This weekend I’ve been packing up and going through stuff in my bedroom in preparation for (finally!) replacing the original carpet from 1986. And I had a bag that had stuff that I took out of my car when I traded in my KIA for my VW. I went through the bag today to throw out / recycle whatever was in there, and I came across an envelope that was for the same check (stock dividend) that I had deposited last week. The envelope was from 2016. And written on the envelope was … ‘ Circus Maximus Wind.’
I thought that was weird timing – coming across the envelope right after I heard the song again!
In other news, I am embarking on a 3-day juice cleanse – wish me luck!
This morning I read about photographer Peter Funch – he has a book out called 42nd Street and Vanderbilt. The tag line reads: BETWEEN 8:30 AM AND 9:30 AM, FROM 2007 TO 2016, AT THE SOUTHERN CORNER OF 42ND STREET AND VANDERBILT AVENUE IN NEW YORK CITY. He took a ton of photos and then matched up photos of the same people. It’s quite fascinating to see the combinations of photos – some of the people were wearing the same outfit on both days, and many of them have the same look on their face in both photos. The people were not aware they were being photographed. Here’s the link – check it out:

And last night we saw a ‘Pink Floyd Laser Spectacular.’ Initially our seats were pretty poor – way to the side and close to the stage. And big speakers on the side blocked any potential view we had to the screen. I complained a little saying we should’ve been charged less for our tickets since we couldn’t really see anything. My friend who bought the tickets got up to go to the box office to see if there were any other seats we could move to. She came across the head usher who pointed out some seats and said we could move at the intermission. And voila! We got really great seats!
