Oh no. Oh no. I may have become one of ‘them.’
It started off innocently enough. I needed a new running skirt because my current one kept falling down when I ran last weekend, so I had to keep hiking it up.
After I got home, I got on-line and Googled ‘running skirts.’ Several companies came up, and I also found a site featuring ‘the top 10 running skirts.’ OK, let’s see what it’s got.
Skirt Sports came up first. I have bought several SS running skirts in the past, and most of the time I liked them, but they seemed to have manufacturing issues size-wise so I was a little hesitant to order another one since I couldn’t try one on first.
New Balance. Asics. Under Armour. All of those had ‘cons’ that I didn’t like (they showed ‘pros’ and ‘cons.’)
So then I came to Lulu Lemon. High ratings. Nice look. And there’s one not too far away that had the skirts in stock. Hmm. I’ve always had a ‘thing’ against Lulu Lemon. Not for any factual reason except for the thing a few years back when there was some issue about being able to see through them when you bent over. But, I assumed that had been resolved by now.
So, feeling the need to get out of the house, I drove there the next day. I walk in, the nice lady asks me if she can help me, and I say I’m looking for a running skirt. She shows them to me, I see one I like, I try it on, the fabric feels nice, and it fits well. Damn!
Then I come out of the changing room in ‘my’ new skirt and I spy some yoga pants. I’ve gotten into taking yoga classes and doing yoga work at home lately. And I don’t really have ‘yoga pants.’ So I say, ‘hey, can I try those yoga pants?’ ‘Sure!’ she replies. And, of course, there are two kinds. One has heavier compression than the other. So, I decide to try both. The heavier ones are also suitable for running (the others are really just for yoga).
Damn. Not only do they feel good, they actually look decent on me (I don’t like how I look in tights/leggings so you have no idea what it means that I thought they look decent). So, I end buying one of each, the skirt, and a short sleeve top to boot.
So today I had a yoga class and I wore the compression ones. They felt so good I wore them to the supermarket. And out for a run. And back to the supermarket for the stuff I forgot.
Yes, that’s right. I wore f*cking leggings to the supermarket! And that is how, for today, I became one of ‘them.’ Up until yesterday I’d see a woman in leggings at the store, and wonder why/how she would wear those to the store. And now today I did it.
Oh no. Oh no.
