My friend Chip from Nashville played in Harrisburg this weekend for the Millenium Music Conference, so I decided to do an overnighter and catch up with him. For my efforts he rewarded me with a CD and a T-shirt!
Here are some photos from the trip a la Amtrak. It’s an hour train ride from Parkesburg, PA. Easy Peasy!
I stayed at the Hilton downtown. It was overrun with Christian Teens there for a conference. Luckily Hilton was smart enough to install employees in the elevators during peak time to avoid all the shenanigans that teens do in elevators.

Unfortunately, for once, I didn’t take any photos of Chip so I don’t have any performance photos. But, he sounded great and we got to hang out, which was cool. The funny thing was, the venue he played at – Carley’s – I’m pretty sure I was the only non-regular in there. Very weird vibe in there.
I got back to the hotel in time to watch SNL. The next morning I decided to walk along the river and catch brunch (at Home 231, and yes I would go back there in a heartbeat) before catching the train back home. Here are some photos from around town:

OK, this is unrelated to the Harrisburg trip, other than I’m reading this book right now – “Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine” – it is really good! I’m not done yet but I came across this sentence last night and it really hit me as one of the best sentences I have ever read. So, I leave you with that for this post.
“I suppose one of the reasons we’re all able to continue to exist in this green and blue vale of tears is that there is always, however remote it might seem, the possibility of change.”
