Cali 2019

Decided to take a trip back to Cali.  Flew out yesterday, plane got in about a half hour early, and, I sat next to the (now retired) CEO of The Container Store!  And I had just gone there last week!  It was a great opportunity to have a conversation with him – definitely the highlight of my flight out!

While we were waiting to board, Kenn was looking at some artwork in PHL:

And then he was happy to be in good ol’ San Fran:

I picked up the rental car, stopped by my old house, and then drove over the hills to El Granada where I am staying with my cousin.  Unloaded my stuff, then got some takeout Indian food.  Yum!  After that, just chit chatted until bedtime.

This morning I got up, did some stuff on my computer and then went for a walk to check out my new hiking shoes.  My cousin’s house is about a mile up a pretty steep hill (I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned this in previous posts) and I wanted to check to make sure the shoes fit all right and my feet wouldn’t be sliding around inside.  Good to go!

Here are some photos:

Kenn saw some turtle friends along the way

And somebody knitted a nice cover for a street sign pole (there’s another one later in this post)

I decided to get a bite to eat at this place.  Never been there before.

Oysters with sauv blanc

Abalone ceviche

Then I thought I better work some of these calories off, so walked along the coast:

My cousin’s house is up in those trees somewhere

I liked the sentiment on this memorial:  “Show up be kind”

Another sign post ‘cozy’

Anyway, that’s about it for today.  The weather here is glorious and everything is green because of all the rain!

Talk soon!
