On this day, 4/24/19, we headed from Tineo to Lugo. The bus dropped us off at a little coffee shop that also sold handmade knives. While I didn’t buy a knife, I did get a photo of these cute little gourds.
After a cup of coffee it was time to set out. I wore shorts this day because it was pretty rainy and I don’t have or like wearing rain pants. I figured my legs would dry faster than anything I would wear. I did have on my Eddie Bauer waterproof rain coat, and was using my Matador waterproof backpack – I love that thing!!
As we left the coffee shop a window opened on the second floor and a woman was shouting ‘Camilo! Camilo!’ – Camilo was our trip leader who is famous on YouTube for a locally produced outdoor adventure show. She is one of his biggest fans!
We got onto a narrow dirt trail, which, as it turns out, was lined with stinging nettles. Luckily, I only brushed them a little bit – I got a slight sting but it went away quickly.
Hard to tell from these photos, but the hike was quite steep, and got even steeper near the top! So, I opted to take a lot of little breaks to take photos, and get a little breather.

When we reached the top, the wind was EPIC. Almost bowled me over! The rain was stinging my face. It was awesome!
We got on the bus for the short ride to Berducedo, where we had lunch. Bus Driver Number 1 had lunch with us, and then was switched out for Bus Driver Number 2 after lunch.
There was a cute little woodstove in the restaurant. Good thing – we were all cold from being out in the rain!

Then onward to Lugo. We drove over a dam:

Hard to tell, but there were two trucks transporting blades for the windmills. They were HUGE!!

After settling into our room, it was time to meet downstairs for a tour of the local cathedral. We also walked by the wall that surrounds old city Lugo – you can walk or run along the top – about a 1.5 mile trip around.
