Made it to Columbus from Nemacolin. Drove on Rt 40 – the Historic National Pike. It was a Sunday and there was a miles long Yard Sale along the road. Tons of people out!
I had the thought “I wonder what town this is?” and right after I thought that I saw a sign that said Welcome to Beautiful … [ darn! I can’t remember the name! oh well, I’ll fill it in later]
On my way to Columbus I decided to stop at a Buddhist Temple I read about on roadsideamerica.com. Here are some pics. There was some kind of festival going on that I didn’t stop at but it was a beautiful building! It’s on the east side of Columbus.
Arrived in Columbus at the Le Meridien Hotel. Valet parking. The valet, Blair, told me I should take everything out of the car because “people have eyes” (I guess because the car was parked in a parking garage near the Convention Center). So, ended up unloading most of what was on the back seat. A little bit of a pain in the butt but it ended up okay because I got to go through my clothes a bit and get more organized. Got takeout from the hotel restaurant and just hung out in my room for the night – had my usual Sunday evening bookclub Zoom.
The next morning I was talking to one of the people behind the front desk and he used to go to the Buddhist template for meditation and yoga classes!
