Had a bit of a long drive today, and it occurred to me that one of the most exhausting things about these drives is the road noise. Most of the roads are pretty rough. I had to turn up the volume on the car’s GPS because I couldn’t hear what it was telling me!
Anyway, it was a 323 mile drive today. I stopped at a few rest stops and took a few photos. Bought gas in Albuquerque and didn’t have to stop for gas again as the range on Athena is pretty darn good. I think I still have 200+ miles of range!
But here’s some photos – this first one I took while driving, but I had been stopped for traffic merging. This was still in New Mexico, early into the trip.

Then I decided to pull off at the Continental Divide. Once I got to the hotel I looked up some info about it, because I didn’t know this info before!

I also didn’t realize the thing about the rainfall. So glad I stopped off here to look!

View from a rest stop. I think it was in Arizona.

Same rest stop – different view

Got to Flagstaff without any issues. Staying at the Doubletree. It’s a little beat but it’s okay. I was happy to discover I could open the windows of my room. And I was too tired to go find food somewhere else and the food from the hotel restaurant is actually really good.
So, I’m in my room for the night. Pretty tired. I think the elevation is tiring too.
Tomorrow I’m thinking I’ll head to Barstow. Will be another long-ish drive but, getting close to Carmel! Yay!
Talk soon!
