Back in 2018, I posted about a song – here is an exerpt:
OMG. I’m listening to the Light Classical station and the song they’re playing is the song my washer and dryer play when they’re done! Liszt “Die Forelle/The Trout.” I was sitting here thinking ‘that sounds so familiar …’ That is so hilarious! Who knew?
Fast forward to last week when I was watching the Japanese Kurosawa Film ‘High and Low.’ I won’t get into details but there is a bad guy in the film. There is a scene where he’s walking home and guess what song is playing in the background — that’s right – Die Forelle!
I did some more research to see if that song was a ‘Japanese’ thing but I learned a few things. First off, the washer and dryer are Samsung which is Korean, not Japanese, so, no connection there.
Second, the song is about a fisherman trying to catch a trout, which paralleled the movie in that the police were trying to catch the bad guy.
So there you go! I thought that was kinda funny!
