It’s Been A While … Visitors, Fancy Dinner, and a Funny Coincidence

It’s been a while since I last wrote – wow, I just checked and my last post was in January!  Oops!

During that time I had visitors Rebecca and Dave here in February.  They stayed here bookmarking a trip to Ventura so Dave could run the half-marathon with his niece.  We had a grand time and Rebecca bought me a dinosaur lamp!

He guards my balcony.  Too bad his head doesn’t really light up!

In March I went to a “Philanthropic Foodie” dinner – a four-course dinner with wine pairings and a champagne reception.  The champagne was good, the white wine not so much.  Surprisingly I liked the Cabernet Sauvignon!  The food was decent too.  Here’s my place setting:

The organizers made a seating chart and I was at a table with the singles.  Provided a lot of entertainment (2 men and 6 women) and I was laughing a lot with my friend Cheryll!

But the thing that made me want to write a  new post just happened today.  I listen to “My Soundtrack” on Amazon Music.  I think it’s based on past music I’ve requested, plus some other music that is similar.  Today the song “You Don’t Love Me (No, No, No) by Dawn Penn came on.  (I had to ask Alexa what the song was).  Anyway, the song started and there was a consistent almost kind of beeping sound in it.  Then I realized it was a car’s horn honking because the alarm set it off, and it was in the same key as the song, and playing at exactly the right rhythm!  What a coinkeedink, eh?  I thought that was pretty funny!

Okay, I’ll try to write more frequently now that I’ve gotten back into it.

Talk soon!
