I learned something new about plumbing this week. Do you know what a jet hole aka siphon jet in a toilet is?
Here you go: The siphon jet’s primary function is to create a powerful suction that pulls water and waste out of the bowl and into the drain pipe.
It’s the little hole at the bottom of the toilet bowl.
The other thing I learned about is pumice stone. This all started because I had some brown staining (from hard water!) around the siphon jet hole. The toilet brush wasn’t strong enough to get rid of the stain. I don’t remember how but somewhere I heard about pumice stone. So, I went to the local Ace Hardware and got one with a handle. Took some elbow grease but I got the stain out! And now I have the pumice stone so I can keep on top of it!
Unfortunately I have no before / after photos. But, maybe you learned something new today! ‘Til next time!
