The first leg

I made it from PHL to DFW to BOI on Thursday.  Flight from PHL to DFW was delayed because the toilets weren’t flushing.  Needless to say, nobody complained about fixing the toilets!  Luckily, though, we landed close to on time, which was good because I only had an hour between flights to catch the next one.  And, oddly, there was one guy, sitting near me, who was also going to BOI.  So, we walked to the gate together (also lucky – we landed at Gate C8 and only had to go to C16.  Originally the second gate was C37, and at least we were in the same terminal!).  They were boarding the second flight so we walked right up and got on – no muss no fuss!

Kenn enjoyed looking out the window of the plane (and a man walking past me found it amusing):

On the first flight the guy next to me didn’t really want to talk.  On the second flight, the guy next to me didn’t really want to talk either, until the last 10 or 15 minutes.  Then he apologized for being anti-social.  I told him no worries – I had stuff to read and wasn’t really expecting anything.  Anyway, we started talking, and then when the plane was landing he said, “I am really sorry I didn’t talk to you sooner – this has been really interesting!”  That made me feel good.  What a nice thing to say!

We landed in BOI, I texted Jay, and then I started thinking, “wow, I haven’t seen him in a few years – I wonder if I’ll recognize him!”  and then there he was walking into the terminal.  Cool!

FYI – there was a delay from my posting.  I reached the limit in storage for my cheapo hosting site, and I had to upgrade it so I could add more photos.  Good to go until 2019!

So, what has happened in the last few days?

Well, all of us Lodi kids arrived at Jay and Carolyn’s.  We’ve been reliving old stories (some, many actually, should not be shared, and therefore won’t be) and checking out the area around Eagle / Boise, ID.  Yesterday (and on Friday) we went to the Hyde Park Street Fair.  Live music, belly dancing, food, crafts.  Very cool.

Oh – and Friday we went for a bike ride on the Greenway.  Here Kenn is showing you part of the Anne Frank Memorial site.

And we stopped and did some wine tasting

OK, so, let’s see what else I have been up to.  We all got together and shared stories.  Today we went to The Springs – outdoor hot springs outside of Idaho City.  This area is experiencing rain – not a common occurrence here.

And now I messed up the formatting!

Unfortunately, where I am the wifi is REALLY slow.  So, I am not going to add any more photos right now.  And dinner is almost ready and I want to hang with my peeps.

More soon!
