I got home from the road trip yesterday. It was quite the epic journey, and I covered a lot of ground and did a lot of things – sometimes not even on purpose!
I’m going to break up the posts on the road trip by location, just to keep things straight.
First stop was Harrisonburg VA. I picked it just because it was about a 4 hour drive, which seemed a good way to start off – not too long of a drive, not too short – just right (about 230 miles)!
Here are a few photos. I stayed at the Hotel Madison. Harrisonburg is home to James Madison University. Luckily the students arrived the weekend before I got there so the hotel wasn’t too busy with college parents! And here is my lovely view (?)

Of course Kenn had to check out the view.

I didn’t go into the museum – it wasn’t open – but, nice to know it was there!

I walked to a place called Rocktown Kitchen for dinner. I asked if they had any local vodkas, and they had this one – potato vodka from a distillery in Richmond VA. It was decent!

All right – this post is short because there wasn’t really a whole lot going on in Harrisonburg. Next up will be Asheville NC – lots and lots of photos so I will save them for the next post. Stay tuned!
