The next morning I had some time to myself and found a nearby preserve to go for a little hike/walk. As it turns out, there are a lot of them, and I probably could have gone to a different one every day if I had realized how close everything was. Oh well! Maybe I’ll go back there someday …
Kenn wanted to go too!

So, I headed to the Swanson Preserve, part of the Leelanau Conservancy, which was less than 10 minutes away. So close!!

The trails were very well kept

This water is Little Traverse Bay. There was a little bench here so I sat and took in the view for a bit.

Here it is!

Another faery tree!

It was pretty neat – there were about 15 people there potting plants when I arrived, and they were still hard at it when I was leaving.

Later that day, I met up with River and Adam and we went to Traverse City for dinner. We went to Rad-ish Street Food https://www.rad-ishstreetfood.com/, which makes vegan food. Funny, I didn’t realize it was Rad-ish as opposed to Radish until I just looked it up. But we had to wait about 30-45 minutes to order our food, so we had some time to waste. So, we walked around a little bit.

This water was REALLY cold!

Finally it was our turn. We all got variations on vegan burgers and fries. Really good! Then we walked to Milk and Honey to get ice cream. I tried the vegan Lavender and Maple Syrup. Very yummy! https://www.milkandhoneytc.com/.
After our yummy goodness and a little bit of walking, we headed back to their house and hung out for a while. I have to say though, one of the highlights of the trip into town was I had to parallel park that monstrous Acadia. It was a fairly tight space. I got it parked on the first try and River said, “That was quite impressive!”
Anyway, next day we went to Sleeping Bear Dunes. Stay tuned!
