Started raining Wednesday night and poured all day on Thanksgiving 11/25, so I decided to have a true spiritual day – two different types of meditation, yoga, cacao ceremony and painting.
I have been meditating when I first wake up for a while now, but yesterday I felt it was time to change my mantra. I won’t share the old or new one here, but the new one feels right.
Hmm, that’s funny. I was just going to write about a painting I did later in the day (hence why in the previous post I said this one would be short) but, I did want to write about all this stuff so I guess it’s meant to be in this post.
For the past couple weeks or so I have felt very bloated. At the retreat we ate a fully vegan diet so I couldn’t figure out why I felt that way, except that I had eaten some chia pudding that can apparently stop you up. But, this has been going on for longer than I would have thought.
I had talked to River a few days earlier because my daily Tarot cards were pretty intense (I previously mentioned I had gotten Devil and Tower Reversed as clarifier before, and 2 days later I got Tower Reversed with Devil clarifier). I clearly was not addressing whatever I had/have going on. He suggested I stop drinking alcohol for the rest of the week and trying Kundalini Meditation.
At the spiritual retreat, Lindsey had given me some cacao and some dried rose petals so I decided to do a little cacao ceremony for myself. I looked up how to make the cacao (basically boil some water (just short of boiling actually), add cacao and rose petals until cacao melts. Add cinnamon or a little honey if you want but don’t add any type of milk.
Went to the communal kitchen and another family was in there making breakfast – eggs and bacon. How auspicious LOL! They were like “wow, that smells good!” so I told them what it was.
Got back to the room, did my little ceremony and then did a Kundalini Meditation I found online https://insighttimer.com/shaktisutriasa/guided-meditations/moving-kundalini-meditation. “Awaken your spiritual energy, activating each chakra and then move it up through your body and out the top of your head.”
Anyway, I started doing the Kundalini Meditation the first time and just started crying my eyes out. The next day I did it wasn’t quite so emotional. I looked up “symptoms” of an energy block in your Third Chakra and it said “excessive weight around the stomach, and digestive system disorders” which is exactly what I had been feeling. I also took a Quiz about it, and it confirmed my third chakra was blocked.
I did a “Yoga with Adriene” YouTube video – that was nice. If you haven’t tried one, you should!
Then I looked up ways to address the energy block, beyond doing the meditation that in itself helped a lot. There is a journaling exercise that I have been doing too. My stomach feels much better, the excessive weight is receding, and even my outlook in life has improved. Pretty powerful stuff!
Later it seemed like the rain was letting up so I decided to try going for a walk. I saw more wild boars than I have this entire trip so far. Went down one dirt driveway and saw 6 or 7 in the distance. They saw me and ran off and I decided to turn around and go a different way. Walked out to a main road and walked down the road a ways. Came across the biggest boar yet – he was pretty darn big! But as soon as he saw me, he ran. I decided to turn around too. Turned out to be good I did because it started raining again and was pouring by the time I got back.
After I got back and dried off, I decided to do a little mini painting – 3×4 inches. Here it is, plus the photo for reference. It didn’t take me too too long – I was trying to not linger over it too much. Plus, having it be so small, it seems like it would have been silly to spend too much time on it. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. I only brought 5 colors with me – white, black, red, yellow and blue so I had to mix the greens and browns myself.

Today is a beautiful sunny day. I went to yoga class this morning – Purna Yoga – I really like it. Alison, the co-owner of Mahana House, teaches it in a local Buddhist Mission. This was my third class.
And, even though it’s a beautiful sunny day, I don’t feel that itchiness / anxiousness to have to go do something. I’m good just being here being me. Definitely an improvement. Talk soon.
