Got to Louisville in good time. The only stops I made were at rest stops.
Got to the hotel (21c Louisville – the first of three 21c hotels I have planned for this trip) and Kenn got to meet Ryan!

Kind of in an artsy part of town, and am staying at the 21c which is a very arty hotel. They even have a room that is an art installation. I thought about staying in it, but it’s in the basement without much, if any, natural light, so, that didn’t interest me so much. But, I got to see it in person which was very cool! Here it is:

Had a glass of wine and some food at the hotel restaurant, Proof (food was a.mazing!) and ended up talking with a guy named Brendan. He’s a drummer among other things. He’s in town to do some stuff at a sound studio called La La Land. He lives in Montreal but also owns property in West Virginia that he wants to do as an AirBnB, and art and music community hub. We had a very nice conversation. And he has an uncle that lives in Monterey!
Then back to the room to relax, clean up, and watch some TV.
This morning I managed to get myself a massage (boy are my shoulders tight from the driving!). The technique seemed different to me so I asked the masseuse, Samantha, what style it was and it turns out it was neuro-muscular. She got really deep and loosened everything up without me cringing. wow! It was amazing!

All 21c hotels have Penguin mascots that randomly get moved around the hotel. This guy greeted me in the hotel elevator this morning (granted, it creeped me out just a little)

Had another conversation with Ryan and showed him my trip spreadsheet (I’m so proud of it LOL). Also got a stamp (like a passport stamp) for 21c LOU. Hoping to get 2 more on this trip! Ryan said since I was such a 21c supporter I deserved a gift so he gave me a ceramic red penguin, about 12 inches tall. It will appear in a later post! Thanks again Ryan – that was so generous!!
Oh, and I forgot to mention – Athena (the name for my TAOS) got over 42 MPG on today’s drive. Wow!!!
