I had a wedding to officiate in Delaware on June 15 – my 7th! So, flew back out east on June 12.  Stayed with a friend until June 16 and then headed down to the beach house to continue getting rid of stuff.

The wedding went off great!  The audience was very engaged with the whole process, and I included some humor and personalization for the couple that they appreciated.  A real feel-good day!

Posted a bunch of stuff on Buy Nothing, and also got in contact with some people who previously said they wanted things so we could schedule pickups.

Ended up meeting Dan and Lea and their two little girls.  Lea had reached out for 2 items I had posted.  She said they would head over and I said we were about to take a bunch of stuff to thrift stores.  She said they would take everything we were going to take.  So, they showed up and emptied out the car!

I also had told her that when she got here she could walk through the house and pick out other stuff.  She asked me if I was moving and I said yes.  They came and wanted the dining table, a bench at the table, and a bunch of other stuff.  At first I was thinking ‘wow, they’re taking a lot!’ but it turns out she is from Delaware, and they had been living in Mesa AZ where Dan is from.  They moved back to DE and have been staying at her brother’s place in one room.  They just got their own place and had nothing, as they gave all their stuff away when they left AZ.  So, things worked out well!  Dan came back the next day to get more stuff, and also offered to help empty the house and get rid of whatever needed gotten rid of, which worked out for me because I was going to have JDOG (kind of like 1-800-GOT-JUNK) come clean out the house.  It was a win-win for all of us!  And he is such a kind, gentle soul.

Robyn, who I think I mentioned in another post, reached out and asked if she could have some tools.  Her husband won’t let her use his and she wanted to feel empowered so I gifted her with a drill and some saws.  She posted a really nice post about me and my generosity and how happy she was for the gift of my friendship.  How wonderful!

And Cindy and Jeff came to get a bunch of stuff and has been sending me photos of how they’re using everything.  They also adopted my Marimo, Sigrid.

Then, back up to Philly area to visit with Kevin and Marian and also catch up with Cilla and Jenna.

I spent my last night at the airport again.  Big storms came through that night and I could watch everything, but at one point the fog was so thick I couldn’t see a thing!

My flight the next day was delayed 3 times (an additional hour each time) and then the airline ended up bringing a plane over from the hangar.  Never had that happen before!

I was going to miss my connection so was rebooked on a later flight.  Had to sit in economy in a middle seat, but it wasn’t too bad.  And the flight was only 2 hours.

My driver was waiting for me when I landed, and my suitcase was the first one off the plane!  Ending on a high note!
