On My Way

It’s been a whirlwind past couple of days.  Today is Saturday 10/23.  On Thursday I finished organizing and packing, and then Jim and Myrna came to pick me up to take me to the errands I had to run and ultimately to my friend Cilla’s house where I would be staying for the night.

The errands I needed to do were:  stop by the lawyer’s office to sign some papers re the sale of the house, mail a box of clothes to my cousin in CA and drop off my cable equipment.

I had an appt set up with the lawyer for 3:30, but then he called and said some things had been delayed and if I could come later that would be great.  Of course that kind of threw my planned schedule off, but oh well.  As it turned out, things worked out perfectly (thanks again Universe!).  We got the box mailed off, got to the lawyer’s office and they had received all the papers I needed to sign (or else we may have had to do a couple of overnight mailings to each other), got to the cable place and I didn’t have to wait in line and the girl behind the counter and I were admiring each other’s hair colors (she magenta, me green and purple).  Then off to Cilla’s for a short happy hour with Jim and Myrna before they had to take off.

Philip (Cilla’s hub) went to get a take out pizza.  But, the trick was to make your own additional toppings and to heat the pizza in the oven at 450oF.  Boy was it good!  We also had a nice salad.  Here is the aftermath:

Next morning I got up, organized my stuff a bit, and then Cilla and I went for a walk.  I had a late afternoon flight so we had some time.  Here’s “my” room:

I got a faery send off!

Then it was time to get to the airport.  Everything went smoothly for the most part.  I was flying out of Terminal A, but the TSA Precheck in that terminal was closed, so, I had to (will I didn’t HAVE to, but I did) walk to Terminal C and do security through there.  There was virtually no line.  I did have to pull my mask down long enough for the security guy to be able to tell it was me.  When I got past him, I had to ask the staff what to do because it’s been so long since I’ve flown anywhere.  Once I got through, it was back to Terminal A for the flight.

Here’s Kenn in the airport:

The plane I was on was a 777 – quite big.  I had a nice little compartment to myself in First Class.

Of course I had to have champagne 🙂

This lunch was actually quite delicious!

The plane was also equipped so that we all had our own screens and entertainment system.  One of the movie categories was “Oscar Nominated Short Films.”  I watched “Feeling Through” – you MUST watch this movie.  It’s about 20 minutes or so but it was really really good.  Very profound.

Landed in LA, got my bag, and had to go back up a level to arrivals to catch the hotel shuttle.

Waited a bit for the hotel shuttle but finally got on it, got to the hotel and got to my room. Whew!

I got some fish tacos from the hotel restaurant (really good!) and tried a Cutwater Vodka Mule (in a can) – Cutwater Spirits is located in San Diego.  That was also quite tasty.

This is my view this morning:

I’ll be here one more night and then flying to HI tomorrow, 10:30am flight.  Today I’m going to reorganize some stuff and probably go for a walk and relax.

Stay tuned!  Next post will be from Hawaii!!
