Leaving Honomu

After almost 3 weeks there, it was time to leave Mahana House.  I was actually supposed to leave on Monday 11/29 but I moved it up by 2 days to Saturday 11/27 because it was just a little too quiet.  Actually, at the end there was a family there who was quite loud, but, what I meant was too quiet was in I was ready to be closer to things to do.  Before I realized my third chakra had an energy block I was real antsy and itchy to go places, and that was when I changed my check out date.  I have since unblocked it some and calmed down a bit, and probably could have ‘stuck it out’ a few more days but I’m very happy to be in Hilo.   Still working on the chakra though.

When I stayed at the Grand Naniloa the first time I was on the 2nd floor on the Southwest corner of the building.  This time I’m on the 9th floor on the West side of the building.  Whole different view, whole different vibe.  I can hear the ocean and have a great view.  The other one was good too, but different.

Anyway, here are some photos from Mahana House – I was in Room 4 which was on one end, which was nice as I had extra windows – this is the main part of the room, facing the ocean.

Alison, one of the owners of Mahana House, teaches Purna Yoga – I went to 3 of her classes.  The first one was a little too easy (the average age in the room was pretty high).  The next time it was just me and another lady, and same for the next one, so, got better work outs then.  I like Purna Yoga – never heard of it before.  The book below is by the founder of Purna Yoga – Aadil Palkhivala.  The purple thing is a ‘Nasmastegg’ – it’s like a yoga block but with, obviously, a different shape.  It fits really nicely under your back to give you a great stretch.  I might get a couple when I get home, whenever that is!

Here’s where I had yoga class – it was really close to Mahana House, in Hakalau, at the Hakalau Jodo Mission:
