Day Eleven – Albuquerque NM

Left the cute little motel in Tucumcari and got back on I-40 to head to Albuquerque.  I thought it would be hotter but the temperatures have been pleasant.

I pretty much stopped at every rest stop just to get out of the car and move around.  Saw the same couple at a couple of the stops – the husband was doing calisthenics LOL.  I also have been seeing the same Subaru on the road for the past couple days – I only noticed it because it has PA license plates!

Here’s some photos:

This is my hotel room in Albuquerque – staying at the Hotel Chaco.  It’s really nice!  I sat out on my balcony for a good part of the evening and it was nice to see a fair number of other people doing the same.  Also nice – I arrived at 1pm and they checked me in early!

This is a cool little food / craft market right across the street from the hotel.  Got a glass of wine and some pasta – really good!

The girl who checked me in – Renee – told me that the bartender at the first floor bar makes his own grenadine and that I should have a “Dirty Temple.” So, I did.  I always thought grenadine was made from cherries but it’s actually made from pomegranate juice and sugar.  It was tasty!  Here’s a shot from the courtyard here.  Also a pleasant place to sit.  They were playing “spa” music and there’s a fountain there too.  Very chill.

I’m probably going to walk over to Sawmill and get some breakfast, and then I’m headed to Flagstaff today.

Talk soon!
