A Nice Coincidence

I was walking into town yesterday, and was waiting to cross the street.  A car was backing into a spot and was in front of me so I had to wait for them to move further backwards.  After they did, I crossed the street and then all of a sudden I hear: “Hellooooo!  Are you the lady that goes to KORi??” Continue reading “A Nice Coincidence”

Latest Painting

To thank Rich, who published me in 65mag.com, I did a painting of Carmel Beach.  Here’s the painting and the photo that inspired it.  Enjoy!

Neurographica Manifestation and Detox!

I had been feeling “thick around the middle” for a while, and kind of had resigned myself to “this is what it’s like at ‘your age’.”  But, I did a second Neurographica workshop a few weeks ago and decided to draw a manifestation drawing.  One of the things I wanted to manifest was losing weight/inches.

Second Neurographia workshop – manifesting some stuff!

After driving cross-country (and eating out the whole time) and then arriving in Carmel and staying in AirBnBs (and not cooking as much as I could have), and just generally developing not the best eating habits, it was time to make a change.

A Surprising Day

Yesterday I had nothing on my calendar!  So, first, I cleaned the floors.  Vacuumed and then damp mopped.  I used an eCloth swiffer-type mop.  If you haven’t used eCloth products before, check them out!  All you need is water and they remove 99% of all bacteria. https://us.e-cloth.com/

Then I strolled to the post office to check my mail, and then I decided to go to the Dawson Cole Gallery in town.  I hadn’t been in in a long time.  Here’s their link: https://www.carmel.dawsoncolefineart.com/ Continue reading “A Surprising Day”

A Commissioned Portrait

Through a series of random events (of course), I ended up being commissioned to paint Lisa’s (from Manzoni) dog for her husband’s birthday.

First, here is the dog, Anoosh (Armenian for sweetness):

I will say one thing – up front I should have asked for more photos of Anoosh.  I didn’t realize how hard it would be to paint from a black and white photo (the painting was to be B&W also, so it seemed okay at the time) Continue reading “A Commissioned Portrait”

An Amazing Opportunity!

When I first got to Carmel, I met Rich.  Rich publishes a magazine called 65/57.  65 is the average temperature in Carmel, and 57 is the average temperature in Napa.

I mentioned to Rich that I paint, and one day he asked if I could show him my work.  So, I pulled up my blog, went to the My Artwork page and handed my phone over.  As he scrolled, he said stuff like “I like that one” or “that one is nice.”  And then he said, how about we do a piece about you for the July issue?
