I’m playing catch up again – in some ways there’s been a lot going on, and in some ways not. Don’t worry, I’ll fill you in later.
Anyway, on 11/15 I woke up feeling ‘off.’ I’ll post about that separately, but, I felt like I needed to get out of this room and give myself some outside time. It was raining – the first of 2 or 3 days of rain – but, I needed to get out anyway.
I looked at a map and saw that Botanical World Adventures is pretty close by. I called to see if it was open just to walk around (there are ziplines and Segway tours) and it was! Not only that, since they were slowly reopening, there was no charge to walk around. Perfect!
The guidebook that I looked at didn’t sound too impressed with this place, especially compared to the Hawaii Tropical Bioreserve and Garden, but, it was really close and it was a place to go, so, I did. I actually thought it was decent, but maybe I just went in with low expectations. It was also bigger than I thought it would be.

A peek at the ocean
After walking around the gardens for a while and stopping to do a short meditation, I took a look at the map they gave me and realized that there is a waterfall close by, so I decided to drive up there. In the meantime, here are some cattle out grazing.
These are the Kamae’e Falls
Hard to see but I think the structure in the photo may be related to the zipline course, but I’m not sure.
Later that afternoon, I went to a Farmer’s Market up the road from where I’m staying. I got 2 Lau Lau’s (fish and sweet potatoes wrapped in Ti leaves), some breadfruit hummus, a banana muffin, 2 sourdough rolls and some truffle pasta. The place where I’m staying has fruit and avocado trees so I didn’t bother buying any of that.
