OK, going to try to catch up on the Spain part of this trip. My ‘Part 6’ post covered going from Llanes to Oviedo, so Part 7 will cover going from Oviedo to Tineo. Our next full day at The Gower proved to have pretty decent weather, so we decided to do one of the trail walks indicated on a map we got. To get some R&R after all the hard work of the Scarecrow Festival, we went for a 4 day holiday to Llanmadoc, Wales. It is in the Southwest area of Wales known as the Gower Peninsula. As they say it here, we went to “The Gower.” Continue reading “Spring Trip 2019 – The Gower Peninsula, Wales: Day 1”

After hitting the Tate Modern in the morning (cab ride over, walk back to hotel), I went to the Design Museum in the afternoon (cab ride over, walk back to hotel). I must say, on the map, both walks back looked straightforward, but, they weren’t. Each museum was roughly 2.5 miles from the hotel, but I’m pretty sure I added at least an extra half mile each time due to getting turned around. UPDATE: I have updated this post since I got home, adding info about Oviedo which I had pretty much completely left out earlier. This post basically covers Day 3 of our trip, which occurred on 4/22/19.

OK, we are now in Llanes (pronounced “yahness”). We have good internet here. We hiked 9.12 miles today including today’s hike plus incidental walks. Needless to say I’m tired, and had a great meal and drinks and now somewhat buzzed as well.

OK! Had a big day today – went to the Guggenheim Museoa, and walked all around Bilbao – 11.2 miles worth!
Unfortunately, I think a million more (or perhaps a hundred more) people checked into our hotel today and the internet is r-e-a-l-l-y slow. Which means, it is taking forever to upload the 10 million photos I took today. And, it’s getting late. And I have to get up early tomorrow for the Tour.
